She was always willing to answer questions, help and find solutions, and that warmth continued throughout our stay. The welcome was exceptional. We genuinely felt at home, surrounded by the comfort and beauty of this extraordinary property. Sonya and her team were attentive, caring and always ready to assist. She even went above and beyond to accommodate more guests than initially planned, handling everything with professionalism, flexibility and grace. The manor is absolutely beautiful: spacious, impeccably maintained and filled with a wonderful sense of peace. It is the perfect place to slow down, disconnect and escape everyday stress. The accommodation is top notch and with so many areas both inside and outside to relax and have a bit of a quiet time or privacy on the one hand, or a more social time, you have all the choices you could wish for.
Hiking o  the mountain can be a challenge or a relaxing stroll   de pending g on the route you choose. Either way,  the views are absolutely amazing.
For self catering,  the kitchen has every appliances you could need and tons of space, including a walk-in fridge.
One thing you have to take advantage of is the served breakfast. It is out of this world,  in taste, quality and quantity.

A beautiful, stately home, tastefully decorated, with comfortable rooms and wonderful wide-open spaces.

There is so much to enjoy ... from the tennis court and swimming pool to the hiking and biking trails, making it the perfect setting for both relaxation and outdoor activities.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with a varied selection each morning. The spread was plentiful and delicious, offering an excellent choice of both hot and cold dishes.

The staff and owner are warm, friendly and incredibly accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed, comfortable and well cared for.

A truly wonderful experience.

 Verified  The property is nicely located in beautiful and peaceful surroundings.The house and garden is big, lots of space and different areas inside and outside where you can relax and enjoy yourself. We ordered breakfast every morning which was really good. Also ordered dinner a few times which was ok.We took advantage of the laundry service, unfortunately 3 of our clothes came back with black marks that do not go away so they got destroyed.Parts of the house are a bit worn down. The bathrooms upstairs has black mould in the showers, also sometimes when you want to shower upstairs there was hardly any water coming out so couldn’t shower. There was also a water leak from the sink in the kitchen while we were there so a lot of water on the floor which got worse and worse while we were there. Couldn’t use the sink.

 Verified  We had the most wonderful Easter weekend getaway with our family of 15 people. Despite ranging in age from 4 to 94 years, Faraway estate met everyone’s needs. Sonja and her team were so warm and welcoming and very flexible to meet our elderly grandmothers accommodation needs. We loved the large patio and sunny lawns during the day and gorgeous lounges and fireplaces at night. Sonja’s catering is a must!  Verified  We celebrated my mother-in-laws 80th birthday with all the family (5 adults and 7 children) and it was fantastic. Highly recommend booking the breakfast. Sonja and her team prepared 3 amazing breakfasts and it meant we didn’t have to worry about cooking and could all sit around the dining table and chat. We hiked in the estate, we played croquet and boules on the lawn, played boards games and may have drank a few glasses of red wine. Would thoroughly recommend the Faraway Estate.  Verified  What an INCREDIBLE place with incredible staff. We booked the Faraway Estate for our bridesmaids and groomsmen house + a day after event post our wedding. We couldn’t have asked for a better place.Before coming Helmare had calls with us to help us set everything up and even helped us source food and drinks for our event. Upon arrival we were met by Sonja the lovely owner who is born to do hospitality! She made us feel so so welcome and couldn’t have been more helpful throughout our stay. She helped our guests source food , taxis and was so lovely to chat to. Helmare even took my dress to be professionally steamed one day. We opted to get Thelma who is the recommended chef to come and cook for the group and we had beautiful quality good value food.The Faraway estate itself is pristine, spacious, and in a gorgeous setting.
